-History of BreadCrumbINT.com

The story of BreadCrumbINT.com's purpose and how it got started is not a short or easy story to tell. The history of BreadCrumbINT.com can probably be traced back to way before the actual site even existed.

The name "Bread Crumb" was created by accident in an IM conversation sometime around October 2001. I made it the name of a new site at GeoCities. That BreadCrumb site was pretty much just a weblog. I posted off and on, filling the pages with pictures and videos similair to what you would find at Rotten.com. The unique content of my weblog brought in a decent amount of visitors, especially for a GeoCities page.

BreadCrumbINT.com was online and in use on December 16, 2001. The "INT" (International) was added on to complete the domain name and to give it a bit of randomness. I quickly learned how to install different cgi scripts for posting different kinds of content, and then I redesigned the layout of the old BreadCrumb site to fit its new form. The old-school BreadCrumbINT.com layout, with a sidebar on each side, packed with menus that could be filled with content was born.

When BreadCrumbINT.com was created, there were only just a couple members on the site. After a few weeks when people started to find out about BreadCrumbINT.com, I was constantly being flooded with Emails and IM's from people asking to be members of the new site. I was very lenient about who I let post; I planned on giving as many people as possible a try-out and then I would get rid of the members that didn't add very much to the content of the site. At one time the Member's Menu was the largest menu on the site. In the beginning the site got a lot of positive attention, there were a ton of hits every month, and it seemed like everyone that I talked to knew about it. All of the members were decently providing content and doing whatever it took to gain a little attention for the site. However, the early days of BreadCrumbINT.com are probably best known for the nonsensical competition between other local websites.

One of the things that I consider to be the biggest achievement of BreadCrumbINT.com came when I was able to offer hosting to an up-and-coming flash game maker, the RiftMaster. The RiftMaster's site, the Paradigm Rift, was the most popular site hosted at the time, and it was the main source of traffic to the site. After his short stay at BreadCrumbINT.com, the RiftMaster went on to start up another site featuring his flash games: ETGames.com.

Unfortunately, the site soon went downhill. I had a very hard time getting even the slightest quality out of member's posts, and the site was sporadically on and offline for about a year. After a certain amount of goatse, tubgirl, and random porn being posted on the site, I decided to shut it down for awhile. BreadCrumbINT.com made a slight comeback for awhile, but, being a freshmen in college, I couldn't find time to worry about maintaining a website.

I decided to bring BreadCrumbINT.com back right before Thanksgiving break 2005, without all of the high hopes of being "the next big thing".

BreadCrumbINT.com has always been about multiple members and more opinions than strictly my own. We're always looking for new contributors and, on occasion, new full-time members.
